As a Naturopathic Doctor, I have observed that most of my patients have some form of anxiety. Chronic worry, life’s pressures and maladaptive coping strategies contribute to developing an anxiety disorder.
Common symptoms of anxiety include: trouble sleeping, neck and back muscle tension and pain, chronic headaches, inability to relax in social situations, sweating, trembling, fatigue, inability to concentrate, heart palpitations and dizziness. Stress can affect all systems of the body especially the digestive system. Other symptoms include acid reflux and not digesting food properly causing bloating and stomach cramps.

Acupuncture- The meridians in acupuncture follow the nervous system and can be very effective for balancing the nervous system as anxiety is a nervous system disorder
Herbal Supplements- some herbs have proven in clinical trials to be just as effective as pharmaceutical anti-anxiety medications.
Vitamin/Mineral Therapy- often a lack of certain nutrients such as magnesium for example can be contributing to anxiety and muscular tension
